"The Spiritual Neighborhood of Mister Rogers"
11am, Rev. Anne Tabor

In a time when the world will benefit most from a loving reminder about what's really important in life, the legacy of Fred Rogers' television series leaves behind 30 years of spiritual lessons that we can all  practice. The fact that so many still hold deep heartfelt memories of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" is a testimony to the universal ideas shared in its message. The world that Fred Rogers talked about is one in which the greatest thing we can ever do is to help somebody know that they're loved and capable of loving. Join Rev. Anne for this high-spirited and soulful romp through the divine teachings of the wonderfully talented Mister Rogers!

Unity of Arlington is Celebrating our 44th Anniversary!

On August 9, 1974, Marie Loynachan and her husband, Keith, started a book study group that evolved into Unity of Arlington. Marie had the support and encouragement of her mentor, Rev. Dr. Donald Curtis, from Unity of Dallas. She says he never let her doubt that she was on the right path and through the years her perseverance, her early morning prayers of affirmation, and her continued greetings each week at the front doors of our church mean that, 44 years later, we have much to celebrate! And we will do so by gathering together after our service on Sunday morning, September 16, in the Garden Lane Center. We will also be celebrating Rev. Anne Tabor's third anniversary at Unity of Arlington!

The Hospitality Team has been meeting to plan this special event and invites you to mark your calendar to join us in sharing laughter, memories, and good food! A sign up sheet will soon be in the foyer so you may indicate which dishes you would like to bring to the festivities (finger foods such as assorted trays of vegetables or cheese, sandwiches, salads, chips and dip, cookies, etc. will all be welcome!). Light beverages will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

Animal Blessing
Saturday, October 6th, 2018
10-12pm

The Blessing of Animals is a service offered in honor of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures. This year, a tent will be set up and our Animal Blessing will take place on the wonderful grounds of Unity of Arlington. All are invited to bring their pets to be blessed. To ensure safety, we ask that you have your pet on a leash or in a carrier so that all get along peacefully. We also bless pictures of your pets for those who have transitioned or are not able to attend.

Spread the word and invite friends and neighbors to bring their pets, too! Love offerings appreciated.

Additional Info:

As a memento, all pets will receive a "Certificate of Blessing."

There will be informal pet photography during the event.

We will also accept items to be donated to Arlington Animal Shelter. A drop area will be designated for toys, cat food (pate only for the kittens), distilled white vinegar, non-clumping cat litter, Windex & paper towels, chlorine bleach, pump garden sprayers, quart size zip lock baggies, and gently used blankets and towels.

Attention Animal Lovers!

Arlington Animal Services is in serious need of newspapers for use at the shelters. Please bring your clean newspapers to the Unity of Arlington Sanctuary. Our Daily Paws Animal Ministry volunteers will take them to Arlington Animal Services. We are grateful for your assistance for our animal friends.

Radiant Sounds...
Christmas is coming!

Come sing with the choir for the Christmas season! We have just begun our new music for Christmas. This is the perfect time to join in the fun! Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30pm.

Remember, you should be able to carry a tune but you do not need to read music. Come join the fun and celebration!

Books Needed
for Young Readers

We are fortunate that we receive a steady supply of literature for adults for the Little Free Library, but rarely do we receive books for some of the more voracious readers in the community...children. Most of us remember with fondness a special book from our youth that opened our minds and hearts to new ideas and understanding. Do you, or perhaps someone you know, have children's books available for donation? Please see what you might be able to share and drop them off at the Administration Building.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking
a deeper understanding of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life.  Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!

Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life,
God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.

CORE VALUES

Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in  all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to
see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole
human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity,
we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
